President’s Welcome

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the ANU Law Students’ Society. My name is Hugh (he/him) and I’m delighted to be your President in 2026.

The LSS is ANU’s largest, oldest and most active student society. By offering a range of educational, careers and social events, we strive to enrich the experience of every law student at ANU in the classroom and beyond. With approximately 700 paid members across the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Juris Doctor cohorts, our committee of 45 students works diligently to offer many exciting events and opportunities. In 2026, our vision is to expand the profile of the LSS and build upon our exceptional legacy. 

As President of the LSS, I represent the interests of our members and coordinate with the committee to foster meaningful initiatives for students. We are committed to building opportunities that are accessible, meaningful, and responsive to student needs. I strongly encourage all students to get involved, share their experiences, and reach out at any time with questions or ideas about the society and how we can better support you.

It is my pleasure to invite you to become a LSS member to make the most of the opportunities available to you. With a membership, you will be able to access exciting social justice initiatives, gain access to our pre-exam tutorials, compete in legal competitions, attend careers events with our sponsors, access exclusive discounted tickets for our social events and much more.
