As President of the ANU Law Students’ Society, I am honoured to represent a diverse and talented cohort of law students who have a variety of aims, backgrounds and passions. We are one of the most respected student-run law organisations in Australia. Our aim is to support and enrich our members through a number of initiatives, events, activities and publications. We also seek to equip our members with the tools to develop professionally, personally, academically and socially.
Students studying at ANU Law are automatically members of the ANU Law Students’ Society and there are always opportunities for students to get involved, whether by attending our high profile speaker series and formal galas, accessing our education services, participating in competitions, engaging with our careers events and resources, or connecting to each other at our social events.
In 2017, I and the rest of the LSS Committee will work diligently to build on its successes, to address the new and continuing needs of our students, and to harness latent potential within the Society to create new and exciting programs. We aim to ensure that our members are well-supported in their legal education, and that they are given the greatest possible opportunity to deepen their understanding and broaden their experience of the law and all it has to offer. Underlying all of our efforts will be a renewed commitment to professionalism, transparency, accessibility and inclusion.
With the valued support of our sponsors, our partners, the ANU College of Law and other organisations, we look forward to working hard to promote a fulfilling and fruitful university experience for all our students.
